Downfield is a neighborhood in the northern part of Dundee, Scotland. It's mainly a place where people live, with homes and local shops. The area is found along Strathmartine Road, between Kingsway and Dundee's northern edge.
Downfield is next to other areas like St Marys and Ardler to the west. To the east, you'll find Kirkton, and Fairmuir is to the south. Even though it's close to other places, Downfield has its own identity. Its name is used for a local church area called "Downfield South." It also gives its name to a bus route.
In the past, Downfield had its own railway station. This station was first called Baldovan railway station. Later, it became known as Baldovan and Downfield railway station. It was part of the old Dundee and Newtyle Railway line.
