Dr. Francisco Soca, often just called Soca, is a small city located in the southern part of Uruguay. It's part of the Canelones Department. The name "Soca" also refers to the larger area, or municipality, that the city is part of.

Where is Soca?
Soca is found where two roads meet: the old Route 8 and Route 34, which leads to La Floresta. A small river called Arroyo Mosquitos flows along the northern and western edges of the city.
A Look at Soca's History
This city has an interesting past! It was first started as a village on September 20, 1877. Back then, it was called "Mosquitos." It was also sometimes known as "Santo Tomás de Aquino."
Later, on April 18, 1928, its name was officially changed to "Soca." Many years after that, on September 23, 1971, Soca was given the special title of "City."
