Starting with the Falcons
When Drew first joined the Falcons, he was released from the main team roster. This happens when teams decide which players will be on their final list. But the very next day, he was added to the team's practice squad. The practice squad is a group of players who train with the team. They help the main players get ready for games. They can also be called up to play if needed.
Making His NFL Debut
In 2012, Drew was again released from the main roster. But he quickly rejoined the practice squad. Soon after, he was moved to the active 53-man roster. This meant he was officially part of the main team. He played his first NFL game in Week 1. This was a win against the Kansas City Chiefs.
First Touchdown Score
A big moment for Drew came in Week 8 of the 2012 season. He scored his very first touchdown! This happened during a game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He caught a 15-yard pass from the Falcons' quarterback, Matt Ryan. A touchdown is worth six points in football. It is a very exciting play.
