How Did Driftpile Get Its Name?

The name "Driftpile" comes from the nearby Driftpile River. Rivers often carry logs and other debris, especially during floods or when ice melts. When these logs gather and pile up, they are called "drift piles." So, the community and the river likely got their names from these natural piles of wood found along the riverbanks.
