Druidism facts for kids
Druidism, also called Druidry, is a modern spiritual path. It focuses on living in harmony with nature. Many followers see nature as sacred and worthy of respect. Some people call it Neodruidry or Neodruidism. It is part of a larger group of beliefs known as Neopaganism.
Modern Druidism began in the 1700s and 1800s. It was inspired by romantic ideas about ancient times. Early Druids believed they were like the ancient Celtic druids. However, modern Druidism is not directly linked to the ancient Celts or their culture. The ideas about ancient Druids were often not historically accurate.

What Do Druids Believe?
The beliefs in modern Druidism can be very different from person to person. There isn't one strict set of rules or beliefs that all followers must follow.
Nature is Sacred
A main idea is that the Earth and all of nature are sacred. Many Druids believe that nature itself is worthy of worship. Because of this, many Druids are pantheistic. This means they believe that God or a divine spirit is present in everything in the universe, especially in nature.
Practices and Celebrations
Druids often celebrate the changing seasons and the cycles of nature. They might hold ceremonies outdoors in natural places like forests or near ancient sites. These celebrations help them feel connected to the Earth and its rhythms.
