Team History
Drummondville first had a QMJHL team in 1969. That team was called the Drummondville Rangers. However, the Rangers stopped playing after the 1973–74 season.
In the 1982–83 season, Drummondville got a new team. This team was named after a brave group of soldiers from Quebec. They were called the Canadian Voltigeurs and fought in the War of 1812.
The Voltigeurs have played in the Memorial Cup tournament three times. This tournament brings together the best junior hockey teams in Canada. They played in 1988 and 1991 as the second-best team in the QMJHL. In 2009, they played as the QMJHL champions.
During the 2008–09 season, the Voltigeurs won both the President's Cup and the Jean Rougeau Trophy. The Jean Rougeau Trophy is given to the team with the most points in the regular season. In the 2009 Memorial Cup, the Voltigeurs did well in the first part of the tournament. However, they lost to the Windsor Spitfires in the semi-finals.
