The Story of Drush

Drush was first created by a person named Arto Bendiken. He developed it in 2007 to work with an older version of Drupal, called Drupal 4.7.

Later, in May 2007, another developer named Franz Heinzmann rewrote and redesigned parts of Drush. This made it work even better with Drupal 5, which was the newer version at the time.

Today, Drush is looked after by Moshe Weitzman. He works with a team of other helpful people, including Owen Barton, greg.1.anderson, jonhattan, Mark Sonnabaum, Jonathan Hedstrom, and Christopher Gervais. They all help to keep Drush updated, fix any problems, and add new features so it continues to be a great tool for Drupal users.
