Duško Tošić is a Serbian former professional footballer. He was born on January 19, 1985. He played as a defender for many clubs. Duško also represented his country, Serbia, in big tournaments. These included the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Playing for Clubs: Duško Tošić's Career
Starting Out: Early Career
Duško Tošić was born in Zrenjanin, a city in Serbia. He started his football journey in his home country. He played for a team called OFK Beograd. In 2006, he moved to France to play for Sochaux. He stayed there for about a year and a half. During his time at Sochaux, his team won a major French cup, the 2006–07 Coupe de France. Other big clubs from Italy, Germany, and Spain started to notice him.
Playing in Germany: Werder Bremen
After his time in France, Duško moved to Germany. He joined Werder Bremen for the 2007–08 season. He signed a contract to play for them until 2011. However, his contract with Bremen ended early in February 2010.
Short Stays: Portsmouth and QPR
On February 12, 2010, Tošić signed with Portsmouth in England. But Portsmouth was having money problems. Because of this, Duško could not officially play for them in the Premier League. He had to leave the club within a month. He then went on loan to QPR until the end of that season. He played five games for QPR.
Back Home: Red Star Belgrade
On July 7, 2010, Duško Tošić returned to Serbia. He joined Red Star Belgrade, a very famous club. He signed a three-year contract with them. For a short time in 2011, he went on loan to Real Betis in Spain. He came back to Red Star in January 2012.
Playing in Turkey: Gençlerbirliği and Beşiktaş
In June 2012, Tošić moved to Turkey. He joined a team called Gençlerbirliği in the Süper Lig. He played there for three seasons. He was considered one of the best players on the team.
Then, on June 2, 2015, Duško signed a three-year contract with Beşiktaş. This was another big club in Turkey. Beşiktaş won the Süper Lig title two times in a row with Tošić. He mostly played as a central defender for them.
Moving to China: Guangzhou R&F
In May 2018, Duško Tošić moved to China. He signed with Guangzhou R&F. He signed a contract for two and a half years.
Playing for His Country: International Career
Duško Tošić played for the Serbian national team. His first game was against Norway in November 2006. It was a friendly match that ended in a 1-1 tie.
In June 2018, Duško was chosen to be part of Serbia's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This is one of the biggest football tournaments in the world. He played in two matches during the World Cup. These games were against Costa Rica and Switzerland.
