Duško Tošić is a former professional footballer from Serbia. He was born on January 19, 1985. Duško played as a defender, which means his main job was to stop the other team from scoring goals. He also proudly represented his country, Serbia, in big tournaments like the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Duško Tošić's Football Journey
Starting His Career
Duško Tošić started his football journey in his home country, Serbia. He played for a club called OFK Beograd. After showing his skills there, he moved to France to play for Sochaux in 2006. While playing for Sochaux, his team won the 2006–07 Coupe de France, which is a major cup competition in France.
Playing in Germany
In 2007, Duško moved to Germany to join Werder Bremen. He signed a contract to play with them until 2011. He spent a few seasons with the German club before his contract ended in early 2010.
Short Stays in England
After leaving Werder Bremen, Duško Tošić briefly joined Portsmouth in England in February 2010. However, due to some financial issues at the club, he couldn't officially play for them in the league. He then went on a loan to QPR until the end of that season, where he played a few matches.
Back to Serbia and Spain
On July 7, 2010, Duško returned to his home country to play for Red Star Belgrade, one of Serbia's biggest clubs. He signed a three-year contract with them. During his time at Red Star, he also had a short loan spell in Spain with Real Betis in 2011, before coming back to Red Star in January 2012.
Success in Turkey
In June 2012, Duško Tošić moved to Turkey to play for Gençlerbirliği in the Süper Lig, which is Turkey's top football league. He played there for three seasons and was considered one of the best players on his team.
His success in Turkey continued when he signed a three-year contract with Beşiktaş in June 2015. At Beşiktaş, Duško played a key role as a central defender. His team won the Süper Lig title two seasons in a row, in 2015–16 and 2016–17.
Playing in China
In May 2018, Duško Tošić moved to China to play for Guangzhou R&F. He signed a contract for two and a half years. He played for them until 2020. In 2021, he returned to Turkey for a short period, playing for Kasımpaşa.
International Matches for Serbia
Duško Tošić made his first appearance for the Serbian national team in a friendly match against Norway on November 15, 2006. The game ended in a 1–1 draw.
In June 2018, Duško was chosen to be part of Serbia's team for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. This is one of the biggest football tournaments in the world! He played in two matches during the World Cup, against Costa Rica and Switzerland.
Personal Life
Duško Tošić was born in Zrenjanin, Serbia, and grew up in a nearby village called Orlovat. He married Serbian pop singer Jelena Karleuša in June 2008. They have two daughters named Atina and Nika.
