She is sometimes called Marie Therese Nadejda Albertine Rosa Philippine Margarethe Christine Helene Josepha Martina Leopoldine Herzogin von Württemberg in German. Her family once held the royal throne of Württemberg, a German kingdom that ended in 1918.

Marie-Thérèse was the first wife of Prince Henri, Count of Clermont. He was a claimant to the French throne. Marie-Thérèse is the mother of Prince Jean, Count of Paris. He is the current head of the House of Orléans. This family also claims the French throne.

Her Family Background

Marie-Thérèse was the fifth child in her family. She was the fourth daughter of Philipp Albrecht, Duke of Württemberg. Her mother was Archduchess Rosa of Austria, Princess of Tuscany. Marie-Thérèse was born at Altshausen Castle in Germany.

Her Marriage and Children

Marie-Thérèse married Prince Henri, Count of Clermont. He was the oldest son of Henri, Count of Paris. His mother was Princess Isabelle of Orléans-Braganza. The wedding took place on July 5, 1957, in Dreux, France.

A few years later, Marie-Thérèse's younger brother, Carl, Duke of Württemberg, married Henri's younger sister, Princess Diane d'Orléans. This connected the two noble families even more.
