Duncannon is a small town, called a "borough," located in Perry County, Pennsylvania, United States. In 2020, about 1,473 people lived there. It is part of the larger Harrisburg–Carlisle area.
Interestingly, the exact middle point of Pennsylvania's population is found in Duncannon. For many years, from 1904 to 1988, cool "Lightning Guider Sleds" were made right here in Duncannon. The famous Appalachian Trail also passes through the town, using various streets, mainly along North High Street.

History of Duncannon
Duncannon was first settled in 1792. It was originally known by a different name, Petersburg. The town's current name comes from Duncan's Island, which is located in the nearby Susquehanna River.
A long time ago, in the 1740s, a missionary named David Brainerd visited this area. In his journal, he wrote about his journey on the Susquehanna River. He also described his short stay with a Native American tribe on Duncan's Island. This island is just across the river from where Duncannon is today.
