What is Dunnose Head?

A Look at Its History

Long ago, Dunnose Head was part of a very large piece of land. This land was owned by a company called Packe Brothers Ltd. They had big farms there. Over time, this large area was divided into three smaller farms.

Two of these new farms were based around the old settlement of Dunnose Head:

  • Narrows Farm: This farm covered the area east of the settlement.
  • Dunnose Head Farm: This farm included the old "Centre Camp" and where the company kept its special breeding sheep.

The third farm was located at Shallow Harbour House, which is west of the old settlement. This farm covered the areas where Packe Brothers Ltd used to keep their ewes (female sheep). These areas were called South Camp, North Camp, and Raus Creek.
