Durach is a small town in Germany. It is located in the state of Bavaria. This region is in the southern part of Germany. Durach is part of the Oberallgäu district. About 6,500 people live here.

What Happened in Durach?

Durach became known around the world in August 2008. A small airplane had an unusual accident nearby. The plane hit some power lines. These are big cables that carry electricity.

The Amazing Rescue

The pilot and a passenger were inside the plane. The plane was left hanging from the power cables. It was high above the ground! Luckily, both people survived the crash. They were rescued safely. Many cameras were there to film the rescue. It was a very exciting event.
