Dušan Švento, born on August 1, 1985, is a former professional football player from Slovakia. He was a midfielder, often playing as a left winger or left-back. Dušan spent most of his time playing for two main clubs: Slavia Prague and Red Bull Salzburg. He also proudly played for his home country, Slovakia.

Playing for Clubs
Early Career and Injuries
In the summer of 2007, Dušan Švento visited the English club Derby County. He went there for a trial, which is like an audition, and to see the club's training places. Other English clubs were also interested in him.
However, this interest stopped when he hurt his knee ligaments. This happened after he returned to Prague. He needed surgery and could not play for almost a year.
After recovering from an injury in 2005, Švento played in an important match. This was a play-off game in the Czech First League against Brno FC.
Joining Red Bull Salzburg
On June 16, 2009, Dušan Švento joined Red Bull Salzburg. He signed a contract for three years. The club paid €2 million to bring him to their team.
Return to Slavia Prague
In June 2016, Švento went back to his former club, Slavia Prague. He played there for another season.
New Role at Red Bull Salzburg
In early February 2019, Švento rejoined Red Bull Salzburg once more. This time, he did not return as a player. Instead, he took on the role of manager for the club's Under-12 team.
Playing for Slovakia
First Matches and Goals
Dušan Švento played his first game for the senior Slovak national team on August 15, 2006. This was a friendly match against Malta. The coach at that time was Dušan Galis.
He scored his very first goal for the national team on October 7, 2006. This goal came in an away game against Wales. Slovakia won that match with a score of 5-1.
