Dôme is a popular chain of café restaurants. It started in Perth, Western Australia, and is known for its European-style coffee shops. You can find Dôme cafés in many places, mostly in Western Australia, but also in other countries around the world.
Dôme has more than 50 cafés across Australia, with most of them located in Western Australia. The chain also has several locations in Darwin. In the past, Dôme cafés were also open in Tasmania. Internationally, Dôme has expanded to countries like Japan, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Bahrain, Thailand, and even in Hulhumale in the Maldives.
The Story of Dôme
Dôme was founded in 1990 by three people: Patria Jafferies, Phil May, and Phil Sexton. The very first Dôme café opened its doors in the early 1990s on Napoleon Street in Cottesloe, a suburb of Perth.
By the early 2000s, Dôme had grown quite a lot and became an important part of the café scene in Australia. Today, there are over 130 Dôme cafés operating in about eight different countries. The main office for Dôme is located in the building that used to be the Peninsula Hotel in Maylands, Western Australia.
