The Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area is named for the amazing animals that live there. It is home to many bald eagles. You can also see tall cliffs, called bluffs, along the eastern edge of the Missouri River.

This area is a safe home for many animals. It is a very important stop for birds that are migrating. These birds fly long distances each year. They use the wetlands to rest and find food. How the Area Was Created
The conservation area was made after a very big flood in 1993. This flood destroyed many farms in the area. Instead of rebuilding the farms, the land was turned into a natural wetland. Water for the wetlands comes from the Missouri River. There is also a clever system that uses treated water from the City of Columbia. This helps keep the wetlands full of water.
Things to Do and See
The small town of McBaine, Missouri is at the north entrance. The famous Katy Trail State Park also goes through the area. This trail is great for biking and walking. Visitors can enjoy watching birds and exploring nature. It's a wonderful place to learn about wildlife and wetlands.
