The Eagles Mere Air Museum is a fun place to visit in Pennsylvania. It's a special museum all about aviation, which means flying and airplanes! You can find it near Eagles Mere, Pennsylvania, at Merritt Field. This museum opened in July 2002. It has many old airplanes, some from as far back as 1913! There are also lots of other aviation items from that time, like old photos, engines, and parts of planes.
Exploring the Museum
The museum has several buildings, called "hangars," where the planes are kept. The "Alpha hangar" is the biggest one. It shows off 12 different airplanes. This is also where you can buy your tickets and find the gift shop.
The "Bravo hangar" has five more airplanes to see. Here, you can also watch videos about how the museum and airport were built. The "Charlie hangar" displays four more aircraft. You will find another four planes in the "Delta hangar." Finally, the "Echo hangar" holds three more amazing aircraft.
Awesome Aircraft Collection
The museum has a fantastic collection of old airplanes. These are called "vintage" aircraft because they are from a long time ago. As of mid-2019, the museum's collection includes many cool planes. You can see aircraft like the Aeronca C-3 and the Piper J-3 Cub. There are also planes such as the Boeing-Stearman Model 75 and the De Havilland Tiger Moth.
