School History
Easington Academy started in 1978. It was formed when two schools, Easington Secondary Modern and Murton Secondary Modern, joined together. It was first called Easington Comprehensive School. Over the years, its name changed a few times. In 2007, it became Easington Community Science College because it focused on science. Later, it became an academy and got its current name, Easington Academy. In 2019, the school became part of the North East Learning Trust.
School Houses
Easington Academy has a house system. Students are put into different houses, and they can earn points for their house. These points are given out during school assemblies and performances.
House Names and Colors
The school's houses used to be named after families affected by the 1951 Easington Colliery pit disaster. As of June 2021, the house names were changed to:
- Evolution
- Ambition
- Integrity
- Synergy
School Buildings
Easington Academy has five main buildings where lessons take place. Each building is used for different subjects.

Choosing GCSE Options
