East Albury is a suburb in the city of Albury, New South Wales. It's about 3 kilometers (2 miles) east of Albury's main city area. In 2011, about 6,247 people lived here.
This suburb is on the eastern side of the railway and freeway that goes through Albury. It includes Eastern Hill and flat areas near the Murray River. East Albury has homes and businesses. Big changes are expected because of the freeway, with new shops and buildings already appearing. Important places here include the Albury Base Hospital, Albury Airport, Albury Sports Stadium, Alexandra Park, Mungabareena Reserve, and Eastern Hill.

Exploring East Albury's Past
East Albury started to develop in the 1830s. It grew more in the 1850s and 1870s as transport improved. A lot of growth happened after World War II. This was partly because the government, led by Gough Whitlam, planned for Albury-Wodonga to become a major growth center.
Geography and Nature
East Albury has clear boundaries. North Street and Fallon Street are to the north. Dallinger Road is to the east. The Murray River forms the southern border. The railway and freeway line are to the west.
Eastern Hill and Flat Lands
Most homes in East Albury are built on the slopes of Eastern Hill. The flat, open land to the north and east is partly used for the city's airport. Eastern Hill is a natural reserve, meaning it's protected.
Mungabareena Reserve
Mungabareena Reserve is another special natural area. It's a wetland located on the Murray River, south of the airport and Eastern Hill. This reserve is very important to Aboriginal people.
