History of East Avon

East Avon has some interesting history. A special building called the First Presbyterian Church of Avon is located here. This church is very old and important. In 2005, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. This means it's recognized as a significant historical site in the United States.

Geography and Location

East Avon is located in the northern part of Livingston County. It's in the northeastern section of the Town of Avon.

Major Roads and Routes

Several important roads pass through or near East Avon:

  • U.S. Route 20 and New York State Route 5 both go through East Avon. They lead west about 2 miles to the village of Avon. They also go east about 5 miles to Lima.
  • New York State Route 15 crosses Routes 20 and 5 in the center of East Avon. This route goes south about 5 miles to Lakeville. It also goes north about 19 miles to the city of Rochester.
  • Interstate 390 is a major highway located just east of East Avon. You can get onto I-390 from Exit 10, which connects to Routes 20 and 5. I-390 goes north to Rochester and south to Interstate 86 in Avoca.
