East Bowral is a suburb in New South Wales, Australia. It is located about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) east of the town of Bowral. This area is part of the beautiful Southern Highlands region.
Even though East Bowral is officially a "gazetted locality" and "state suburb," people often think of it as a specific housing area. This area stretches from Old South and Boardman roads to the Bong Bong Picnic Race Club. However, the official suburb boundaries are actually further south. This means the East Bowral Community Centre and the famous Scottish Arms tavern are just outside the official suburb.
In 2011, the population of East Bowral was 1,581 people. It's interesting to note that in 2006, the population was reported as 2,457. The difference is because the boundaries used for counting the population were changed.
