The East Fork South Fork McKenzie River is a smaller river located in Lane County, Oregon. It's a "tributary," which means it flows into a larger river, in this case, the South Fork McKenzie River.
About the East Fork McKenzie River
This river starts high up in the Cascade Range mountains. It flows through a part of the beautiful Willamette National Forest.
Where Does It Flow?
The East Fork flows mostly towards the northwest. It follows along the bottom of a place called Sawtooth Ridge. Eventually, this river empties into Cougar Reservoir. This reservoir is part of the South Fork McKenzie River. The South Fork McKenzie River then joins the even larger McKenzie River.
Exploring the River
The East Fork doesn't have any other rivers or streams flowing into it that have their own names. It also runs along the northern edge of the amazing Three Sisters Wilderness area. If you enjoy hiking, there's a trail called East Fork Trail 3308. This trail follows the river for a long distance. Hikers can cross the river twice using special footbridges.
