East Journey is a cool band from North East Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory, Australia. They play a mix of rock and reggae music. What makes them special is how they combine modern sounds with traditional Indigenous music. They sing in both English and Yolŋu, which is the language of their people.

About East Journey

East Journey started making music in 2010. Their first album, called Guwak, came out in 2012. Their songs have been played on big radio stations like Triple J and Radio Australia.

The band has also won and been nominated for several awards at the National Indigenous Music Awards. These awards celebrate the best Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander musicians in Australia.

In 2015, East Journey worked with another famous band, Yothu Yindi. They created a project together called Genesis. This included an EP (which is like a mini-album) and a performance at the National Indigenous Music Awards that year.

More recently, in June 2021, East Journey played at the Yarrapay Festival. This festival took place at the Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Art Centre in Yirrkala. Other great bands like Yothu Yindi and Yirrmal also performed there.
