Eastwood is what people call a ghost town in San Diego County, California. A ghost town is a place where a town used to be, but now it's empty. This spot is located about a mile northwest of Julian. It's also very close to a stream known as Eastwood Creek.
History of Eastwood
Eastwood was planned as a new town in 1870 by a person named Joseph Stancliff. He wanted his town to be a competitor to the nearby town of Julian. However, his plan did not work out as he hoped. The town of Eastwood never really grew. Today, the only things that remind us of this planned town are the names of Eastwood Creek and Eastwood Hill. Eastwood Hill is a place located just north of where the town was meant to be.
