Ebrahim Nafae (Arabic: ابراهيم نافع) was an important Egyptian journalist. He was born on January 12, 1934, and passed away on January 1, 2018.
He was the main editor of a very famous Egyptian newspaper called Al-Ahram for many years. He also led a big group for Arab journalists, called the General Union of Arab Journalists.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Ebrahim Nafae was born in Suez, a city in Egypt. He went to Ain Shams University and finished his studies in 1956. After that, he started his career as a reporter for Reuters, a news agency.
Later, he worked as an editor at Egyptian Radio. He also wrote about money and business for another newspaper, Al Gomhuria. Before becoming the top editor, Nafae worked at Al-Ahram as the head of the business news section. He was also a deputy editor-in-chief there.
Leading Al-Ahram Newspaper
Ebrahim Nafae became the editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram in 1979. He held this important role until 2005. After that, he was also made the CEO of the newspaper.
During his time at Al-Ahram, he helped share the news and information from the Egyptian government. He also played a role in how the news was presented in Egypt.
Leadership in Journalism Organizations
Nafae was a leader in journalism beyond just Al-Ahram. He served as the head of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate for over ten years. This is an independent group for journalists in Egypt.
He also led the General Union of Arab Journalists. He was the chair of this group from 1996 to 2012. This union brings together journalists from many Arab countries.
Later Life and Passing
In his later years, Ebrahim Nafae faced health challenges. He passed away from cancer on January 1, 2018, in Dubai. He was almost 84 years old.
