Ebru Gündeş (born October 12, 1974) is a famous Turkish singer, actress, and TV host. She is known for her powerful voice and has been a popular figure in Turkish music and television for many years.

Ebru Gündeş's Music Career
Ebru Gündeş is known for singing popular Turkish pop and Arabesque music. Her songs often tell emotional stories.
Early Music Success
Her first album, Tanrı Misafiri, came out in 1992. It was very successful, selling over 1.2 million copies across Turkey. At that time, people saw her as a sweet and innocent young singer. She was featured on billboards all over Istanbul. Her albums after that also became very popular.
Later Albums and Health Challenges
Gündeş released her fifth album, Sen Allah'ın Bir Lütfusun, in 1998. This album quickly became one of the top-selling albums in Turkey. For one of its music videos, she worked with Nigerian footballer Uche Okechukwu.
In December 1999, while recording her album Dön Ne Olur, Ebru faced a serious health problem. After two operations, she fully recovered. Dön Ne Olur became one of the best-selling albums ever in Turkey.
She continued to release many successful albums. These included Ahdım Olsun (2001), Şahane (2003), Bize de Bu Yakışır (2004), Kaçak (2006), and Evet (2008).
Recent Music Releases
In 2011, Ebru Gündeş released her album Beyaz (meaning "White"). In 2012, she released 13.5, which featured covers of older popular songs. While it sold well, some music critics felt it was too much like her previous work.
In October 2014, her fourteenth album, Araftayım, was released. This album sold more than 100,000 copies. Her fifteenth album, Âşık, came out in January 2019. It quickly became the most downloaded and best-selling album in Turkey on its release day. The song "Aşık" also broke records for downloads. Three music videos were made for songs from this album. Her latest album, Aşığım Hâlâ, was released in 2023.

Ebru Gündeş has appeared on television many times. She has been a singer and an actress.
Acting and Hosting Shows
She acted in the comedy series İmkansız Aşk (Impossible Love). She also hosted Mega Show, a very popular TV program in Turkey. On this show, Ebru sang her own songs, classic songs, and duets with other famous Turkish singers. Some of her friends, like Serdar Ortaç and İbrahim Tatlıses, often joined her.
Judging Singing Competitions
Later, she became a judge on the popular singing contest Popstar Alaturka. She judged alongside other famous Turkish singers and TV personalities. Just before leaving Popstar Alaturka, she released her album Evet (Yes).
In 2010, while hosting a TV program, Ebru Gündeş performed a song based on a poem without getting permission or paying for the copyright. The poet later filed a lawsuit against her and the show's producers.
From 2013 to 2016, and again from 2021 to 2022, she was a judge on O Ses Türkiye. This is the Turkish version of the famous singing competition The Voice.
Ebru Gündeş's Personal Life
Ebru Gündeş has been married several times. At age 16, she married Hamdi Vardar. In 2002, she married Ömer Durak, who was a lawyer. Her third marriage was to businessman Reza Zarrab in 2010. They had one daughter together. They divorced in May 2021. In February 2024, Gündeş married businessman Murat Osman Özdemir in Dubai.
