Murat Boz (born March 7, 1980) is a famous Turkish singer, songwriter, and actor.
He started his music journey in 2006 with his first song, "Aşkı Bulamam Ben". The next year, his first album, Maximum (2007), became very popular and won him many awards. He released more successful albums like Şans (2009), Aşklarım Büyük Benden (2011), and Janti (2016). Many of his songs, such as "Maximum" and "Adını Bilen Yazsın", were top hits in Turkey. Some songs like "Geri Dönüş Olsa" even reached number one! Besides singing, Murat Boz also became an actor. He starred in movies like Hadi İnşallah (2014) and Kardeşim Benim (2016).
Murat Boz is also known for playing the violin, drum, and ney. He has been the face of many big brands. He is also a judge on O Ses Türkiye, which is the Turkish version of The Voice. He even won the first season as a judge! Throughout his career, he has won many awards, including four Golden Butterfly Awards.

Early Life and Music Start
Murat Boz was born on March 7, 1980, in Karadeniz Ereğli, Turkey. He was the second child of his parents. He has an older brother named Ali.
Murat also played football for the ErdemirSpor Young Football Team for two years. After finishing school, his mother encouraged him to take music classes. In 1995, he moved to Istanbul and joined the Istanbul Anadolu Fine Arts High School. There, he learned to play the piano and violin. In 1998, he won a music competition organized by the Milliyet newspaper. He later studied jazz vocals at Istanbul Bilgi University and then Turkish music at ITU Turkish Music State Conservatory. During this time, he also started singing backup for famous singer Tarkan.
In 2000, Murat Boz began working as a backup singer in music halls. He sang for many popular artists like Burcu Güneş, Hande Yener, and Tarkan. He worked with Tarkan for six years. In 2004, he appeared in Nil Karaibrahimgil's music video "Bronzlaşmak". In 2005, he was featured in the song "Yalan" by the girl group Hepsi.
Music Career and Hit Songs
First Albums: Maximum and Şans (2006–2010)
After being featured in the hit song "Yalan" by the group Hepsi, Murat Boz released his first solo song, "Aşkı Bulamam Ben", in July 2006. The music video for this song was directed by Süleyman Yüksel. In early 2007, his first album, Maximum, came out. It was a big success and helped him become even more famous in Turkey. Many artists, including Tarkan, worked on this album.
Murat Boz's song "Maximum" became his first number-one hit on the Turkish charts. In 2007, he won the "Best New Artist" award at three different ceremonies, including the Golden Butterfly Awards.

In July 2008, Murat Boz released a mini-album called Uçurum. The main song, also called "Uçurum", reached number five on the Turkish charts.
In February 2009, his second album, Şans, was released. It sold many copies and won him an award for "Best Album by a Male Artist". The song "Para Yok" reached number five on the charts. Other popular songs from this album included "Özledim" and "Sallana Sallana", which also reached number five. For the song "İki Medeni İnsan", a new version was made with the writer Soner Sarıkabadayı singing along.
In April 2010, Boz released the song "Hayat Sana Güzel". This song was used to promote a search for a new singer.
More Success: Aşklarım Büyük Benden and First Movie (2011–2015)
Murat Boz announced his third album would be released in 2010. He went to London to prepare for it. In April 2011, the song "Aşklarım Büyük Benden" was released. In May 2011, his third album, also called Aşklarım Büyük Benden, came out. This album sold 35,000 copies and won awards.
Songs like "Hayat Öpücüğü" and "Bulmaca" became popular. Two songs, "Geri Dönüş Olsa" and "Kalamam Arkadaş", became number-one hits on the Turkish charts. At the 39th Golden Butterfly Awards, he won "Best Turkish Pop Music Male Soloist". He also won "Best Male Artist" at the Kral Music Awards.
In August 2012, Murat Boz released his first remix album, Dance Mix. It had remixes of songs from his earlier albums. He also sang a new version of "Yazmışsa Bozmak Olmaz" with Ozan Doğulu. He won an award for "Best Remix" for "Geri Dönüş Olsa". In February 2013, he sang on Oğuz Berkay Fidan's hit song "Olmuyor". He also performed his new song, "Vazgeçmem", which became a top-five hit. In April 2014, he was featured in the song "İltimas" by Gülşen.
New Movies and Albums: Kardeşim Benim and Janti (2016–Present)
In January 2016, Murat Boz's second movie, Kardeşim Benim, was released. He starred in it with Burak Özçivit and Aslı Enver. In April 2016, his fourth album, Janti, came out. The song "Janti" became a number-one hit in Turkey, and "Adını Bilen Yazsın" reached number two. Later that year, he starred in another movie, Dönerse Senindir.
Murat Boz also became the face of Cornetto ice cream in 2018. He released the song "Geç Olmadan" for their commercials.
In 2019, Boz starred in the romantic comedy movie Öldür Beni Sevgilim with Seda Bakan. A music video for the movie's main song was released. In July 2019, Murat Boz released his sixth song, "Aşk Bu". This song was praised by critics.
On February 14, 2020, Murat Boz released his new song "Can Kenarım".
Murat Boz's Style
Murat Boz plays the piano, violin, and ney. He is a pop music singer. He believes that just singing on stage is not enough. He wants his shows to be as high quality as those of American singer Madonna. Early in his career, people compared his look and style to Tarkan, but Murat Boz said he didn't like these comparisons. His first albums, Maximum and Şans, had many dance songs. Later, his album Aşklarım Büyük Benden included more calm songs. He wanted more mature songs in his third album. Critics liked his new direction, saying his songs showed more maturity.
Other Projects and TV Shows
Besides his music, Murat Boz has worked on many other projects. He has been a judge on the reality singing competition O Ses Türkiye for seven seasons. In the first season, a contestant from his team, Oğuz Berkay Fidan, won the competition. This made Murat Boz the winning judge of the first season! A critic from Hürriyet newspaper said Murat Boz is a "very caring and kind" judge. They also said his energy and jokes make him one of the most friendly judges.
In December 2011, Murat Boz organized concerts in Van to help people affected by the 2011 Van earthquake. In 2012, he joined a program by Greenpeace to protect the North Pole. He appeared in their advertisement and sang in Turkish. He has also been in many commercials for different companies. In 2012, he held a contest for a commercial, and the winners got to appear with him in the music video for his song "Soyadımsın".
