Makbule Hande Özyener (born 12 January 1973), known as Hande Yener, is a famous Turkish singer and songwriter. She started her music career in the early 2000s. Since then, she has become a very important artist in Turkish pop music, with many songs reaching the top of the music charts. Hande Yener is also known for her unique fashion choices and has changed her look many times over the years. She has also tried different music styles, even making electronic music for a short time before returning to pop.

Hande Yener's Journey in Music
Early Life and Starting Out (1973–1999)
Hande Yener was born in Kadıköy, Istanbul, Turkey, on January 12, 1973. She always dreamed of becoming a singer. After middle school, she wanted to go to a music school, but her family preferred she go to a regular high school. She left Erenköy Girls High School in her second year.
To follow her dream, Hande tried to meet the famous singer Sezen Aksu. She worked in a shop, hoping to meet artists who could help her. One day, she met Hülya Avşar, who introduced her to Sezen Aksu. Hande then worked as a backing vocalist (a singer who supports the main singer) for Aksu for two years. This experience helped her prepare for her own music career.
First Albums and Big Hits (2000–2006)
Hande Yener's first album, Senden İbaret, came out in 2000. Her first song, "Yalanın Batsın", became a huge hit in Turkey that summer! People were very impressed with her debut. She won awards for Best Newcomer and Best Music Video.
In 2002, she released her second album, Sen Yoluna... Ben Yoluma.... This album was also very successful, selling over one million copies! Songs like "Sen Yoluna... Ben Yoluma..." became popular. She won awards for Best Female Pop Artist and Best-Selling Album.
Her third album, Aşk Kadın Ruhundan Anlamıyor, was released in 2004. Hande said she became more professional with this album. Songs like "Acele Etme", "Kırmızı", and "Acı Veriyor" were big hits on the radio. The album sold 400,000 copies.
In 2006, Hande released Apayrı, her fourth album. She called it an alternative pop album and wanted to try new sounds. Some critics liked her new style, which included elements of house music and R&B. Songs like "Kelepçe" and "Aşkın Ateşi" became popular.
Trying Electronic Music (2007–2009)
In 2007, Hande Yener released Nasıl Delirdim?, where she changed her style to electronic music. This was a big change from her usual pop songs. Some people didn't like the change, but others praised the album. Songs like "Kibir" and "Romeo" were hits.
She continued with electronic music in her next albums, Hipnoz (2008) and Hayrola? (2009). She wrote many of the songs herself. These albums were seen as high-quality electronic music.

Her album Kraliçe (meaning "Queen") came out in 2012. The song "Hasta" was a hit. In 2013, she released the single "Ya Ya Ya Ya", which quickly became one of the most played songs on YouTube in Turkey and won awards for Best Single and Best Song.
Recent Successes (2014–Present)
Hande Yener's eleventh album, Mükemmel, was released in 2014. The song "Alt Dudak" was very popular. She also performed at the Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre, which was a big event.
In 2015, her song "Sebastian" became a number-one hit for three weeks. She even named a beach and night club after the song!
In 2016, she released Hepsi Hit Vol. 1. The song "Mor" topped the music charts for three weeks and won an award for Best Music Video. In 2017, she released Hepsi Hit Vol. 2, with the song "Bakıcaz Artık" reaching number two on the charts.
In 2018, Hande Yener released "Beni Sev," which was well-liked by critics. She also released her first English song, "Love Always Wins." In 2019, she continued to release new singles, showing different styles.
In 2020, Hande Yener released her fourteenth studio album, Carpe Diem, to celebrate 20 years in music. In 2021, she shared that she had successfully recovered from breast cancer.
