Ebru Gündeş (born October 12, 1974) is a very popular Turkish singer, actress, and TV personality. She is known for her strong voice and has been performing since 1992. She sings different styles of music, including Turkish pop and a special Turkish style called arabesque.

Ebru Gündeş's Music Journey
Ebru Gündeş began her music career in 1992. Her first album, Tanrı Misafiri, was a huge hit! It sold over 1.2 million copies across Turkey. When she first started, people saw her as a sweet and innocent young artist. She was often seen on billboards all over Istanbul.
Her next albums were also very successful. In 1998, she released her fifth album, Sen Allah'ın Bir Lütfusun. This album quickly became one of the top-selling albums in Turkey. For one of its music videos, she even worked with a famous football player, Uche Okechukwu.
In December 1999, Ebru Gündeş faced a serious health challenge while recording her album Dön Ne Olur. After getting medical help, she made a full recovery. Dön Ne Olur became one of the best-selling albums ever in Turkey. She continued to release many popular albums, including Ahdım Olsun (2001), Şahane (2003), and Evet (2008).
In 2012, she released 13.5, which featured covers of old, well-known songs. While it sold well, some music critics felt it was too much like her previous work. In 2014, her fourteenth album, Araftayım, sold over 100,000 copies. Her fifteenth album, Âşık, came out in 2019. It quickly became the most downloaded and best-selling album in Turkey on its release day!
Ebru Gündeş on TV
Besides singing, Ebru Gündeş has also had a big career on television. She has appeared in many TV shows as a singer and even as an actress in a comedy series called İmkansız Aşk (Impossible Love).
She was also the host of Mega Show, which was a very popular TV program in Turkey. On this show, Ebru would sing her own songs, classic tunes, and even duets with other famous Turkish singers like Serdar Ortaç.
Later, she became a judge on the popular singing competition Popstar Alaturka. She judged alongside other well-known Turkish singers. She also served as a judge on O Ses Türkiye, which is the Turkish version of The Voice. She was a judge on this show from 2013 to 2016, and again from 2021 to 2022.
Ebru Gündeş's Life
Ebru Gündeş has been married a few times. At 16, she married Hamdi Vardar. Later, in 2002, she married Ömer Durak. Her third marriage was to businessman Reza Zarrab in 2010. They have one daughter together. They later divorced in 2021. In February 2024, Ebru Gündeş married businessman Murat Osman Özdemir in Dubai.
