Ecru is a small town in Pontotoc County, Mississippi. In 2020, about 901 people lived there. Ecru is special because it has the world's largest factory that makes upholstered furniture. This factory produces furniture for Ashley Furniture.

History of Ecru
Ecru was started by a man named Colonel William Clark Falkner. He was an important businessman after the American Civil War. The town got its unique name from the color of its very first train station. The color was ecru, which is a light yellowish-brown, like unbleached linen.
Geography and Location
Ecru is located in the northern part of Pontotoc County. It sits along Mississippi Highway 15. Older parts of the town are found along Mississippi Highway 345. The large Ashley Furniture factory is in the southwestern part of town, near Mississippi Highway 346.
Mississippi Highway 15 connects Ecru to other towns. To the north, it leads to Interstate 22 and New Albany. To the south, it goes to Pontotoc. The Little Tallahatchie River flows through the southern part of Ecru. This river is a branch of the Tallahatchie River. A special path for walking and biking, called the Tanglefoot Trail, also goes through the town.
The town covers a total area of about 4.72 square miles (12.22 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a very small amount of water.
