Ed Lover (born James Roberts) is an American disc jockey, radio personality, actor, and rapper. He is famous for being one of the first hosts, called VJs, on the popular MTV show Yo! MTV Raps. He hosted the show alongside Doctor Dré and Fab 5 Freddy.
Ed Lover has hosted many important radio and TV music shows. These include Yo! MTV Raps and a morning show at "104.3 Jams" WBMX in Chicago. He also hosted The Ed Lover Experience on radio stations across the U.S. and C'Mon Son! The Podcast.
He is widely known for being the first person to announce the passing of Tupac Shakur at a Nas concert in 1996.
