Eddie Coker

Edward Eugene Coker (born December 1, 1960, in Midland, Texas) is a children's singer and songwriter. He creates music especially for kids and families. Eddie grew up in Highland Park, Texas, and now lives in Manitou Springs, Colorado. He is famous for his energetic concerts and imaginative songs.

Eddie studied music at Southern Methodist University. He started his career as an opera singer. But since 1987, he has been writing, recording, and performing children's music. His songs mix different styles like rock and pop. You might even hear some classical music influences!

Eddie's songs often feature unique and silly characters. One is Fred, a "purple red-truck-driving duck." Another is Regina, an octopus who used to be a musician and now works in construction. These characters make his music and shows extra fun.

Eddie has written music for popular children's shows and places. He composed songs for Barney & Friends and Chuck E. Cheese's. He also created music for Borders Books. For a while, he hosted a Saturday-morning show. It was called "The Weird, Wild World of Eddie Coker" on Radio Disney.

Eddie performs many concerts each year. He usually does over 200 shows! Another Texas musician, Sara Hickman, once called him "the James Brown of children's music." She said he was "The hardest-working man in kids' show business." This shows how much energy and effort Eddie puts into his music and performances.
