Eddie Steeples is an American actor born on November 25, 1973. He is famous for playing the "Rubberband Man" in funny commercials for OfficeMax. He is also well-known for his role as Darnell Turner on the TV show My Name Is Earl. You might also recognize him as Cal in the movie Would You Rather or as Eddie on the show The Guest Book.

About Eddie Steeples
Eddie Steeples was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He grew up in Spring, Texas, and is the oldest of eight children. When he was in grade school, his friends and family called him the "Distinguished Dog." This was because he had a calm and dignified look, a bit like a dog.
After finishing Klein Oak High School in 1992, Eddie moved to Santa Cruz, California. There, he started taking acting classes at Cabrillo College. He continued to study acting with the St. Louis Black Repertory Theatre. He also spent a short time at Howard University before moving to New York City.
Early Career and TV Appearances
In New York City, Eddie Steeples joined an experimental film group called Mo-Freek Productions. He was also part of a hip hop music group called No Surrender. He starred in several Mo-Freek films, including Lost in the Bush, Caravan Summer, and People Are Dead. He also appeared in a short film called Whoa. You might have seen him as a guest on The Chris Rock Show too.
Eddie became nationally famous when he was chosen to play the "Rubberband Man." This character was in a series of commercials for OfficeMax, a store that sells office supplies. These commercials made him a recognizable face across the country. He has also acted in many feature films.
Playing Darnell Turner
One of Eddie Steeples' most famous roles was Darnell Turner. He played this character on the NBC comedy TV series My Name Is Earl. The show first aired on September 20, 2005, and ran for four seasons. In the show, Darnell Turner was also known as "Crab Man." His real name was Harry Monroe, but he used Darnell Turner as a witness protection name.
