Eden Alene (born on May 7, 2000) is a talented singer from Israel. She became well-known after winning the seventh season of the singing competition HaKokhav HaBa. This win led her to represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Her song for the contest was "Set Me Free", and she finished in 17th place.

Eden Alene's Early Life
Eden Alene was born in Jerusalem, Israel. Her parents were Ethiopian-Jewish and had moved to Israel from Ethiopia. When Eden was two years old, her parents divorced. She has not been in touch with her father since then.
Eden went to religious Jewish schools for elementary and middle school. Later, she attended a secular Jewish high school, the Hebrew University Secondary School. There, she focused on studying theatre.
In October 2018, Eden joined the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as a soldier. She served in the military band of the Education and Youth Corps. She finished her service in October 2020. As of 2024, Eden has stepped away from the music industry and works as a hostess in a restaurant in Tel Aviv.
Eden Alene's Music Career
Eden Alene started her journey in music in October 2017. She was a contestant on the third season of the singing competition The X Factor Israel. She impressed the judges with her audition song, "Stone Cold" by Demi Lovato. In January 2018, she won the entire season.
In April 2018, Eden performed a song by Arkadi Duchin at a special ceremony. This event celebrated the 70th anniversary of Israel's establishment. In December 2018, she released her first song, called "Better". The next year, in 2019, she acted in an Israeli version of the musical Little Shop of Horrors.
Before the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 took place in Tel Aviv, Eden released a cover song. It was "Save Your Kisses for Me" by Brotherhood of Man, which had won Eurovision in 1976. In March 2019, she released her second song, "When It Comes to You". This song was produced by the American producer Julian Bunetta.
Eurovision Song Contest Journey
In 2019, Eden joined the seventh season of the Israeli singing competition Rising Star (HaKokhav HaBa). She won first place on February 4, 2020. As the winner, she was chosen to represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. This contest was planned for Rotterdam, Netherlands.
Four songs were chosen as finalists for her to sing: "Savior in the Sound", "Roots", "Rakata", and "Feker Libi". The song "Feker Libi" was eventually picked. It was special because it included four languages: English, Arabic, Hebrew, and Amharic. However, the Eurovision 2020 event was canceled on March 18, 2020, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
On March 22, 2020, it was announced that Eden would represent Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 instead. In January 2021, three new songs were considered for her: "Ue La La", "La La Love", and "Set Me Free". On January 25, 2021, "Set Me Free" was chosen as her song.
Eden performed 12th in the first semi-final on May 18, 2021. She successfully qualified for the final, which took place on May 22. During her performance, she hit a very high B6 whistle note. This note broke the record for the highest note ever sung in Eurovision history. In the final, she earned 93 points and finished in 17th place out of 26 countries.
