Edgar & Ellen is a fun series about twelve-year-old twin orphans named Edgar and Ellen. They live in a super sweet town called Nod's Limbs, but they love to cause all sorts of mischief and mayhem! The series includes nine books and some extra stories. The twins' names were inspired by the famous American writer and poet Edgar Allan Poe.
Edgar and Ellen live in a huge 13-story mansion on the edge of Nod's Limbs. Ellen is the older twin by just a couple of minutes. They share their home with a furry creature they call Pet, who is basically a hairball with an eyeball! Their caretaker, Heimertz, lives in a small shack nearby. Close to their mansion was an old junkyard, which the twins called their "Gadget Graveyard." They used to find parts there to build amazing (and often mischievous) inventions.
Both twins wear striped footie pajamas and love to play pranks on each other. But their favorite targets are the overly good townspeople of Nod's Limbs. Edgar and Ellen are super smart, brave, and very creative. Sometimes, their clever pranks even go hilariously wrong!

Adventures in the Books
The books follow Edgar and Ellen on many wild adventures as they try to liven up their too-perfect town.
- Rare Beasts
In this book, the twins need money for their pranks. They decide to "borrow" pets from Nod's Limbs and pretend they are rare animals to sell them. But things get tricky when a stolen snake gets hungry!
- Tourist Trap
The town's mayor, Mayor Knightleigh, wants to build a fancy hotel where the twins' "Gadget Graveyard" used to be. Edgar and Ellen try to stop him by giving celebrities a terrible tour of Nod's Limbs. They even mess up a big French toast festival!
- Under Town
Someone new is causing trouble in Nod's Limbs, and it's not Edgar and Ellen! A new prankster is copying their tricks. The twins have to go deep under the town to find out who this new prankster is and stop them.
- Pet's Revenge
Ellen suddenly starts acting perfectly well-behaved. She even takes a bath and goes to a slumber party! Edgar has to plan pranks all by himself. Is Ellen secretly planning something, or has their furry friend, Pet, managed to split them up?
- High Wire
The twins discover that their caretaker, Heimertz, has a secret past with the circus. When the circus comes to Nod's Limbs, Edgar and Ellen get more than they bargained for!
- Nod's Limbs
A old story about Nod's missing golden limbs (a treasure!) comes back to life. The whole town starts a treasure hunt that leads them right to the twins' property. They dig up a collapsed cave and find something much more surprising than gold.
- Hot Air
After some big changes in town, Edgar and Ellen are seen as heroes. But their easy life is threatened when an old enemy returns. Plus, a new election for mayor is coming up!
- Frost Bites
The twins chase Stephanie Knightleigh to a cold Arctic village called Frøsthaven. This town is super cheerful and reminds them of Nod's Limbs. They try to find out why it's so sweet, leading them to a forbidden mountain where something doesn't like to be disturbed.
- Split Ends
To stop Stephanie's plans, the twins have to separate for the first time ever. Edgar goes to a forest and teams up with a monster hunter. Ellen and Pet end up in a very unfriendly town.
The Mischief Manual
The Mischief Manual is a special book written by Edgar and Ellen themselves! In this book, they share their best prank ideas and secrets. It includes tips, plans, and ideas for mischief you can try at home (if you dare!).
The Town of Nod's Limbs
Nod's Limbs is the town where Edgar and Ellen live. It's so sweet and perfect that it almost hurts your teeth! The people there are not very original, which is why Edgar and Ellen stand out so much. The twins try to make the shiny, perfect town a bit more interesting, often by throwing mud at it! The twins say living there is "like living inside a sugar cube."
The Cartoon Shorts
Edgar & Ellen also had short cartoons! These two-minute cartoons showed Edgar and Ellen's pranking adventures. They were shown on Nicktoons every day. There were thirteen shorts in total. Six holiday specials also aired, including "Trick or Twins" for Halloween and "Cold Medalists" for winter.
The shorts featured Edgar and Ellen's pranks, along with other characters like Mayor Knightleigh, Bob the Intern, Pet, and Buffy the Muffin lady. Edgar and Ellen even hosted the "Scare-a-thon" on Nicktoons for Halloween in 2005 and 2006!
