Edith Kimani is a well-known journalist and media personality from Kenya. She works for a big German news channel called Deutsche Welle (DW). Growing Up and School
Edith Kimani grew up in a place called Kinoo, in Kiambu, Kenya. She went to primary school at Forest View Academy and later Westlands Primary School. After that, she attended State House Girls School in Nairobi for high school.
While in high school, Edith was very good at acting and drama. Because of her talent, she received a scholarship to attend Hillcrest International School. After finishing high school, she went to the United States International University. There, she studied international relations, which is about how different countries work together.
Starting Her Career
When Edith was 19 years old, she joined a TV show competition called The Presenter. This show on Kenya Television Network (KTN) was looking for new journalists. Edith won the competition! This win helped her get a job as a reporter and news anchor at KTN.
She worked at KTN for seven years, learning a lot about journalism. Then, she decided to join Deutsche Welle, the German news channel. She started as a reporter for East Africa, focusing on environmental stories. Later, she was promoted to a news anchor. She also began hosting The 77 percent, a show that talks about issues important to young people.

Edith Kimani has hosted many important events. In June 2019, she hosted DW's Global Media Forum. She also hosted the 2019 World Economic Forum on Africa, which took place in South Africa. She even led a discussion at the World Trade Organization's public meeting in Switzerland. These events show how important her work is in sharing news and ideas around the world.
