Edmond Pidoux was born on October 25, 1908, in Belgium. His father was a church minister. Edmond later moved to Switzerland and studied literature, which is the study of books and writing, at the University of Lausanne. After finishing his studies, he worked as a teacher and also gave lectures. He had an older brother named Pierre Pidoux, who was a musicologist, meaning he studied music.

His Writings and Awards

Edmond Pidoux became well-known for his writing. He wrote a lot of poems and stories. He was especially famous for his writings about Bible stories, like L'histoire de Jonas (which means 'The Story of Jonah'). In 1982, he won a special writing award called the Prix du livre vaudois. Edmond Pidoux passed away on April 17, 2004.
