Eduardo Sáenz de Cabezón Irigaray was born on June 24, 1972, in Logroño, Spain. He is a Spanish mathematician and a professor at the University of La Rioja. Since 2001, he has taught about computer languages and systems.
Eduardo is well-known for making science, especially math, fun and easy to understand. He is a specialist in scientific monologues, which are like stand-up comedy shows but about science. He also does research in an area called computational algebra. He has written many research papers and worked with other mathematicians from Spain and Europe.

Eduardo earned his PhD for his thesis titled "Combinatorial Koszul homology: computations and applications." He received the highest possible grade for his work. His research focused on computational algebra.
In his thesis, he studied something called Koszul homology for certain mathematical structures. He described how these structures work and created algorithms to calculate this homology. These algorithms proved to be very effective.
