Edward Bligh (1797 – 11 April 1872) was an Irish landowner. He is best known for playing first-class cricket for Cambridge University in the 1810s.

Edward Bligh was born in 1797. He came from a well-known family in Ireland. His father was Thomas Cherburgh Bligh. His mother was Lady Theodosia Bligh. She was the daughter of the 3rd Earl of Darnley.
Education and Cricket
Edward Bligh went to Eton College, a famous school. Later, in 1818, he went to St John's College at Cambridge University.
While at Cambridge, he played first-class cricket. This is the highest level of cricket played in a country. Edward Bligh played in one first-class match in 1819. In that game, he scored a total of 26 runs. His highest score in that match was 20 runs. He also caught four balls.
Family Life
Edward Bligh got married on August 9, 1820. He married Sophia Eversfield in Horsham. Sophia was born in 1792 and passed away in 1843.
