Edwin Dean Benton is an American entrepreneur and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, California. Benton is known for launching Slang N’ Friendz, a mobile game with Ludacris.
Career
Benton was born and raised in Fresno, California. Benton graduated from University of Utah with a degree in Economics and Film with an emphasis on Screenwriting. In 2004, Benton produced directed the comedy pilot Agenda: The Breakroom Bandit, which featured Kareem Grimes, Dino Archie, and Garrett Kirby. Subsequently, he was hired to film behind the scenes footage for Def Jam music artists such as Chrisette Michele and Johnta Austin. In 2012, he founded Shine Residential, a health care agency known for servicing adults with intellectual disabilities.
Notably, in 2017, Benton partnered with Ludacris and founded The C.A.T Apps, which developed Slang N’ Friendz, a mobile game.
