Edwin Arturo Congo Murillo (born October 7, 1976) is a former professional football player from Colombia. He played as a forward, which means he was mainly responsible for scoring goals.
Edwin Congo was known for his strong physical play on the field. He spent most of his career playing in Spain for different teams. He played in various league levels, scoring 33 goals in 164 matches. This included three goals in 44 games in La Liga, which is Spain's top football league.
He was part of famous clubs like Real Madrid, but he often played for other teams on loan. A loan means a player temporarily plays for another team.

Playing for Clubs
Early Career and Real Madrid
Edwin Congo started his professional career with Once Caldas in Colombia. He played very well there. In 1999, Real Madrid, a huge club in La Liga, bought him.
However, Edwin Congo did not play any league games for Real Madrid during his time there. He was loaned out to other teams. These teams included Real Valladolid, Vitória S.C. in Portugal, and Toulouse FC in France.
Success with Levante
Congo's most successful period in Spain was with Levante UD. He helped them get promoted to the top league twice. In the 2003–04 season, he scored eight goals for Levante.
He also played for Sporting de Gijón in the second division. In the 2006–07 season, he scored 11 goals for them.
Later Career and Retirement
In the 2007–08 season, Congo played for Recreativo de Huelva in Spain's top league. After that, he joined CD Olímpic de Xàtiva in a regional league in Spain. He scored three goals in his first two matches for them.
Edwin Congo stopped playing professional football in 2009 when he was 33 years old.
International Career
Edwin Congo also played for his home country, Colombia. He represented Colombia in two major tournaments: the 1999 Copa América and the 2004 Copa América. He played a total of 17 games for the national team.
