Edwin Uehara (born July 21, 1969) is a former Japanese football player. He was born in Lima, Peru. Later, in May 1994, he became a Japanese citizen. Uehara played football professionally from 1987 to 1996.

Edwin Uehara was born in Lima, Peru, on July 21, 1969. His family has roots in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. This means he is a Japanese Peruvian, with his grandparents or great-grandparents having moved from Japan.
He started his football career in Peru, playing for clubs like Deportivo AELU and Sporting Cristal until 1992. In June 1992, he moved to Japan and joined a team called Urawa Reds.
When he first arrived, he played in many matches. However, after 1993, new rules were put in place. These rules limited how many players from other countries could play in a team. This meant Edwin had fewer chances to play. In 1994, he also faced an injury, which further reduced his playing time.
In 1996, Uehara moved to another team, Tosu Futures, which played in the Japan Football League. He played 21 games for them and scored 4 goals. At the end of the 1996 season, he decided to retire from professional football.
