Edwin Uehara (上原 エドウィン, Uehara Edwin, born July 21, 1969) is a former professional football player from Japan. He was born in Lima, Peru, on July 21, 1969. Edwin became a Japanese citizen in May 1994. He played as a Midfielder during his career. Uehara's professional playing career lasted from 1987 to 1996.

Early Career in Peru
Edwin Uehara was born in Lima, Peru. His family has roots in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. This means he is of Japanese heritage, even though he was born in Peru. Before moving to Japan, Edwin played for two football clubs in Peru. He played for Deportivo AELU and Sporting Cristal. He stayed with these teams until 1992.
Playing in Japan
In June 1992, Edwin Uehara moved to Japan. He joined a team called Urawa Reds. When he first arrived, he played in many matches during 1992. However, after 1993, he played fewer games. This was partly because of new rules about how many foreign players could be on a team. In 1994, he also had an injury. This injury meant he couldn't play much that year.
In 1996, Edwin moved to a different team. He joined Tosu Futures, which was part of the Japan Football League. He played for Tosu Futures for one season. At the end of the 1996 season, Edwin Uehara decided to retire from professional football.
