Efrem Zimbalist, Sr. facts for kids
Efrem Zimbalist, Sr. (born April 21, 1889 or 1890 – died February 22, 1985) was a talented musician from Russia who became an American citizen. He was famous for playing the violin, writing music as a composer, teaching others, and leading orchestras as a conductor. He was also the head of the Curtis Institute of Music, a well-known school for musicians.
Efrem Zimbalist, Sr. was married to a famous singer named Alma Gluck. He was also the father of the actor Efrem Zimbalist, Jr., who many people might know from movies and TV shows.
Zimbalist, Sr. lived a long life and passed away peacefully at the age of 94.
