Egidio Raúl Arévalo Ríos (born 1 January 1982) is a famous Uruguayan football player. He is often called El Cacha, which is a nickname. He played as a defensive midfielder. This means he was a player who mostly helped protect his team's goal. He also has Mexican citizenship.

Club Career: Playing for Many Teams
Egidio Arévalo Ríos started his football journey at the Paysandú Bella Vista youth team. People sometimes called him El pequeño gigante (The Little Giant) because of his strong playing style. He played for many different clubs during his career.
Some of the teams he played for include Paysandú Bella Vista, Bella Vista (Montevideo), and Peñarol in Uruguay. He also played for teams in other countries like Monterrey and Club Tijuana in Mexico, and Botafogo in Brazil.
In 2012, Arévalo Ríos signed with Serie A club Palermo in Italy. Later, in 2013, he played for Chicago Fire in the MLS in the United States.
He then returned to Mexico to play for Tigres UANL. His coach, Ricardo Ferretti, praised him a lot. He said Arévalo was "not an idol, but an example of what a player must be" because he started training right after playing in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. With Tigres, he helped the team reach the finals of the 2015 Copa Libertadores, which is a very important tournament in South America. He also won a championship with Tigres in 2015. After that, he played for other Mexican clubs like Atlas, Chiapas, and Veracruz.
International Career: Representing Uruguay
Egidio Arévalo Ríos was a very important player for the Uruguayan national team. He played in two FIFA World Cup tournaments: in 2010 and 2014. Playing in the World Cup is a huge achievement for any footballer!
In 2011, he helped Uruguay win the Copa América in Argentina. This is a big championship for national teams in South America. He was also chosen to play for the Uruguayan Olympic team at the London 2012 Olympics. He was even chosen as the captain of the national team, showing his leadership skills.
