Club Atlético Bella Vista, often called simply Bella Vista, is a professional football club from Montevideo, Uruguay. The team plays its home games at the Estadio José Nasazzi. This stadium can hold up to 10,000 fans. The club is also known by its nicknames Papales and Auriblancos.

Club History: Bella Vista's Journey
Club Atlético Bella Vista was started on October 4, 1920. It has a long and interesting history in Uruguayan football.
Early Days and International Tours
In 1930, the club went on an exciting international tour. They traveled to many countries like Chile, Peru, Mexico, the USA, Brazil, and Cuba. Their biggest win during this tour was a fantastic 6–0 victory against Atlante.
Competing in the Copa Libertadores
Bella Vista has played in the Copa Libertadores several times. This is a very important football tournament for clubs in South America.
- In 1981, they played against teams from Uruguay and Venezuela. They were eliminated in the first round.
- They competed again in 1985, playing against teams from Uruguay and Chile. Again, they were knocked out in the first stage.
- In 1991, after winning the Uruguayan league, they faced strong teams from Uruguay and Brazil. They finished last in their group.
- In 1993, they played against teams from Uruguay and Ecuador. They had a tough time and were eliminated early.
Bella Vista's Best Performance
The club's best performance in the Copa Libertadores happened in 1999. After six years away, Bella Vista returned to the tournament. They were in a group with teams from Uruguay, Venezuela, and Mexico. They did very well, finishing third in their group. This allowed them to move to the next stage.
In the second stage, they beat Universidad Católica from Chile. This was a big achievement! However, in the quarterfinals, they were stopped by Deportivo Cali. Deportivo Cali later went on to play in the final of the competition. This run to the quarterfinals was Bella Vista's best result ever in the Copa Libertadores.
Recent Years in Tournaments
In 2000, Bella Vista played in the Copa Libertadores again. They were in a group with teams from Bolivia, Brazil, and Chile. They were eliminated in the first round that year.
In 2011, the club also competed in the Copa Sudamericana. This is another important South American club tournament. They were eliminated in the first round by Universidad Católica.
