Eisenstadt-Umgebung District facts for kids

The Bezirk Eisenstadt-Umgebung is a special area, like a county, in the country of Austria. It's located in the state of Burgenland. This district is known by a few names: in German, it's Bezirk Eisenstadt-Umgebung, but people also call it Kotar Željezno-okolica in Croatian and Kismarton Járás in Hungarian.

This district covers about 455.5 square kilometers. Imagine an area roughly the size of 45,550 football fields! In 2022, about 44,257 people lived here. This means there were about 98 people living in each square kilometer. The main city for this district is Eisenstadt. Even though Eisenstadt is the administrative center, it's actually a special "statutory city" and isn't officially part of the district itself.
