El Jannah (Arabic: الجنة; meaning paradise or heaven) is a popular Australian fast-food chain. It is owned by a family and serves delicious Lebanese food. El Jannah is especially famous for its amazing charcoal Lebanese-style chicken. They are also well-known for their special garlic sauce, which is called toum.
You can find El Jannah restaurants all over Sydney and Melbourne. The chain is growing and opening new stores in other cities too. They now have restaurants in Canberra, Wollongong, and Tahmoor.
El Jannah's Story
El Jannah was started by Andre and Carole Estephan. They opened their very first restaurant in 1998. This first store was in a Sydney suburb called Granville.
Over the years, El Jannah became super popular in Sydney. Many people loved their food so much that it gained a "cult following." This means a lot of dedicated fans kept coming back! By the late 2010s and early 2020s, the chain had grown a lot. It opened more than 20 restaurants across Sydney, including the city center.
El Jannah then started to expand outside of Sydney. In April 2022, they opened their first store in Melbourne. This restaurant is in the suburb of Preston. The chain also opened its first store in Australia's capital city, Canberra. This happened in May 2023, in the suburb of Gungahlin.
