Elaine Devry (born Thelma Elaine Mahnken, January 10, 1930 – September 20, 2023) was an American actress. She was known for her roles in movies and TV shows.

Elaine Devry's Early Life

Elaine Devry was born Thelma Elaine Mahnken on January 10, 1930, in Compton, California. She grew up there with her parents, Fred and Hortense Mahnken, and her older brother, Jeff.

She started modeling when she was 15 years old. After high school, she went to Compton Junior College. She was even crowned homecoming queen there!

In 1948, she married her high school boyfriend, Dan Ducich. They lived in Butte, Montana. They divorced in 1952, and Elaine returned to California. She worked as a carhop at a popular drive-in restaurant.

Elaine Devry's Acting Career

Elaine Devry began her acting career using the name Elaine Davis. Her first movie was The Atomic Kid (1954). In this film, she starred alongside actor Mickey Rooney.

She appeared in other movies like China Doll (1958) and A Guide for the Married Man (1967). Elaine also made guest appearances on many TV shows. She was on Perry Mason three times. In 1962, she played Janice Wainwright in an episode called "The Case of the Shapely Shadow."

Elaine Devry was also seen in popular TV series such as Death Valley Days, Bonanza, and I Dream of Jeannie. She appeared on My Three Sons in 1969. She played Millicent Sawyer, a woman who goes on a date with Steven Douglas.

Elaine Devry's Personal Life

Elaine Devry married her high school boyfriend, Dan Ducich, in 1948. They divorced in 1952.

Later that year, she met actor Mickey Rooney. They married on November 15, 1952, in Las Vegas. Elaine and Mickey had a son and a daughter together. Their marriage lasted for six years, and they divorced in 1958.

Elaine later married actor Will J. White. They remained married until his death in 1992. From 2005, Elaine Devry lived on a ranch in Oregon. She passed away in Grants Pass, Oregon, on September 20, 2023, at the age of 93.
