Elchanan Halpern (born December 26, 1921 – died February 18, 2015) was a very important Jewish leader. He served as the main Rabbi for the Golders Green area in London. He was also the President of the Union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations, a big group of Jewish communities.
People also knew him as the Av Beit Din of Radomishl. This special title connected him to the town of Radomishl, where his grandfather, Rabbi Shmuel Engel, was a respected leader.

Rabbi Elchanan Halpern was a highly respected Jewish scholar and leader. He was born in Košice, which was part of Czechoslovakia at the time. Both of his parents were descendants of a famous rabbi named Chaim Halberstam. This meant he came from a long line of important religious figures.
