Elena Ionescu (born on May 17, 1988) is a talented Romanian singer. She became very well known as the first winner of the TV show Survivor România.

Elena has had a successful music career. She was the main singer for a popular pop band called Mandinga for ten years. She joined the band in 2006 and stayed until 2016. Before her, another singer named Elena Gheorghe was the lead singer. Elena Ionescu took over when Elena Gheorghe decided to start her own solo music career.

In 2016, Elena Ionescu also decided to leave Mandinga. She wanted to start her own solo career, just like the singer before her.

Elena Ionescu at Eurovision

One of Elena's biggest moments was representing Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012. Mandinga won the Romanian national competition to go to Eurovision. This big music contest happened in Baku, Azerbaijan, that year.

Elena performed the band's hit song, "Zaleilah", on the Eurovision stage. It was a very exciting time for her and for Romania. Interestingly, Elena was the second lead singer from Mandinga to represent Romania at Eurovision. Elena Gheorghe had also represented the country in 2009.

Her Solo Music Career

After leaving Mandinga, Elena Ionescu started making her own music. She has released several songs as a solo artist. Some of her songs include "Decembrie de poveste," "Spune-i," and "Laleyla." She continues to create new music and perform for her fans.
