Elena Shinohara was born on April 6, 2000. She is an American rhythmic gymnast who was born in Japan. Elena is also a popular social media personality. She was once part of the U.S. National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team.

About Elena Shinohara
Elena Shinohara was born in Japan on April 6, 2000. When she was five months old, her family moved to the United States. Her mother, Nancy Shinohara, used to be a rhythmic gymnast for Japan. Now, she coaches Elena.
Elena finished high school at Collins Hill High School in 2018. She then went to Georgia Tech university. She studied biochemistry there. Elena has shared that she hopes to become a skin doctor (dermatologist) after her gymnastics career. As of 2023, Elena lives in California.
Elena's Gymnastics Journey
Elena Shinohara is a very talented rhythmic gymnast. She is the only gymnast at the top "elite" level in Georgia. In 2015, she was chosen to be on the Junior U.S. National team.
First International Competitions
Elena competed in her first international event in 2018. This was the Luxembourg Cup.
- She placed fourth using the ball.
- She came in fifth with the ribbon.
- She finished seventh with the hoop.
In 2019, Elena also competed in the Irina Cup in Warsaw, Poland. There, she placed eighth using the clubs. Later that year, at the Amsterdam Masters, she won two medals:
- A silver medal for her overall performance.
- A gold medal specifically for her hoop routine.
National Team and Awards
At the 2019 National Championships, Elena performed very well.
- She finished tenth in the overall competition.
- She placed seventh in both clubs and ribbon.
- She was eighth with the ball.
Because of her great performance, Elena was chosen for the Senior U.S. National team. She also won a special award that year. It was the 2019 Sportsperson of the Year Award. The top twelve rhythmic gymnasts at the competition voted for this award.
In 2020, Elena competed at the Rhythmic Challenge in Lake Placid, New York.

- She won a bronze medal for her clubs routine.
