Elena Shinohara (born April 6, 2000) is a talented rhythmic gymnast from the United States. She was also a member of the U.S. National Rhythmic Gymnastics Team. Besides gymnastics, Elena is also a popular social media personality. She creates videos on YouTube and streams on Twitch.

About Elena's Life
Elena Shinohara was born in Japan on April 6, 2000. When she was just five months old, her family moved to the United States. Her mother, Nancy Shinohara, was also a rhythmic gymnast for Japan's national team. She is now Elena's coach!
Elena finished high school at Collins Hill High School in 2018. Later, she went to Georgia Tech university. She studied biochemistry there. Elena lives in California as of 2023. Her father, Minoru Shinohara, works at Georgia Tech. He runs a special lab that studies how human muscles work.
Elena's Gymnastics Journey
Elena Shinohara is a very special rhythmic gymnast. She was the only elite-level rhythmic gymnast in the state of Georgia for a while. In 2015, she was chosen to be part of the Junior U.S. National team. This was a big step in her gymnastics career.
International Competitions
Elena started competing internationally in 2018 at the Luxembourg Cup. She did very well there! She placed fourth with the ball and fifth with the ribbon. She also placed seventh with the hoop.
In 2019, Elena competed in Poland at the Irina Cup. She finished eighth when performing with clubs. Later that year, at the Amsterdam Masters, she won two medals. She earned a silver medal for her overall performance. She also won a gold medal for her hoop routine!
National Achievements
At the 2019 National Championships, Elena showed her skills. She finished tenth in the all-around competition. She also placed seventh with clubs and ribbon, and eighth with the ball. Because of her great performance, she was chosen for the Senior U.S. National team.
Elena also won a special award in 2019. It was called the Sportsperson of the Year Award. The top twelve rhythmic gymnasts at the competition voted for who should win this award. In 2020, Elena competed at the Rhythmic Challenge in Lake Placid, New York. She finished fifth overall and won a bronze medal for her clubs routine.
